To start the day with so much beauty,
Only to see it disappear just as quickly.
If only I could bottle up the emotions
That a sunrise brings
I would be able to drink from it when needed,
And feel good again.
Then reality strikes!
People hating others because of their beliefs
The color of their skin,
And who they decide to love ’til the end.
Never giving them a chance to show you
The beauty, kindness and friendship within.
Wars that no one understands,
Killing millions for a piece of land.
How I wish a bottle did exist for all to drink,
Then everyone would feel calm, love, and be at peace.
Unfortunately, we all know that is a faraway dream,
And we can only find peace within.
